PAUL, THE GALLAGHER IN THE BACKGROUND

Paul Gallagher is Noel's and Liam's older brother, but he has been clever enough not to be notorious for it. A writer, a sports journalist, a band manager and now a sought-after DJ, Paul has made a name for himself.

As the eldest brother, he was the one who started bringing cool records home. He was also the one who brought a guitar home, but lost interest in it and so eight-year-old Noel started practising on it for hours every day. At home, chatterers Paul and Liam would be hanging around while moody Noel would play guitar alone in his room. Paul has never played in any of his brothers' bands, but he has always been there supporting them. Paul was the one who got Andy Bell in Oasis and who introduced guitarist Jeff Wootton to Noel.

The night Oasis announced their split-up, Paul, booked for the Rock in Seine festival too, DJ-ed right to the end of the aftershow party.

Recently he has been DJ-ing on Noel's solo tour dates, and he is regularly in touch with Liam too. Paul is convinced the Oasis reunion will take place again: "This is a big business. I'm sure the Oasis reunion will happen one day, there's too much money for it not to. They're a premier band. Regardless of what they say... money talks."

He added: "Whatever Liam does the crowd goes mental. Noel has the songs but not the presence and he'll never have it. Noel is a frontman now but he's not a frontman, he's a sideman being a frontman. There's more than getting up and singing to being a frontman."

Paul wrote a book about the Gallaghers´ childhood: "Brothers from Childhood to Oasis: The Real Story", which is on sale here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brothers-Childhood-Oasis-Real-Story/dp/1852276711
